Check out our new paper! We once again venture outside our comfort zone into an unknown world, thanks to Adrian Lopez's enormous and rigorous work. We have had seven reviewers for this work, and we have to say that, instead of treating us as newcomers to the area and ignoring us, they took it seriously and did a very constructive job helping to improve the article, which we thank them enormously for. Here, we show how our technology enables the production of enzymes immobilized by the producer cell itself in a single step, capable of degrading post-consumer PET. The immobilization also enables the recycling of the enzymes, which can be reused for subsequent rounds of plastic depolymerization.
